Inspiration for Life news

We’re very pleased to welcome two new trustees on to our Board.

Professor Ingunn Holen is Professor of Bone Oncology at the Sheffield Medical School.  A lot of her research is funded through Weston Park Cancer Charity, with whom we’ve been working since Inspiration for Life was founded, and her appointment will further strengthen those links. Ingunn has spoken at the 24 Hour Inspire in previous years, bringing reports from the front line of cancer research.

Andy Tattersall is an Information Specialist at the School of Health and Related Research at Sheffield University. Andy has been involved with Inspiration for Life for several years, and since 2016 has been running Radio Inspire, the pop-up radio station that broadcasts during the 24 Hour Inspire.

We’re very much looking forward to working with Ingunn and Andy in the future.

We also welcome another new arrival – our Treasurer Mike Weir and his wife Kim’s new baby, Max!

And a reminder that our team will be running the Endcliffe Park 10k on Sunday 6 August, and you can sponsor them here. All funds go to support the vital work of Weston Park Cancer Charity – not only cutting edge cancer research like Ingunn’s which will go on to save many lives in the future, but also improvements in care for cancer patients being treated at the hospital today.
