All of us at Inspiration for Life are very proud of Tim’s diary, For When I’m Sleeping. Anyone who’s read it will know that despite the heartbreak that it conveys, it is full of insights into what makes life worth living, and how to live it to the full. (If you haven’t read it yet, head to the Tim’s Diary where you can buy your copy via Paypal – all proceeds to Inspiration for Life.)
We were even prouder to get this message from our friends at Weston Park Cancer Charity:
We hosted an event for our 20:20 Business Club members (made up of local businesses who have pledged to support the work of Weston Park Cancer Charity by investing funds into cancer research over a number of years) where we were delighted to welcome Terry Waite as our guest speaker.
Terry kindly gave up a whole day to come and visit the hospital and attend our event. We wanted to give him a suitable and meaningful gift to thank him for his time and remembered reading in his memoirs that one of the things he missed most during his time as a hostage was access to books. We chose to give Terry a copy of For When I’m Sleeping as a small token of our thanks.
Terry was really touched with the gift and took a lot of interest in Tim’s story which he was keen to go back and read – the coming together of two very inspirational men.
Our next fundraising effort for Weston Park Cancer Charity will be the annual Endcliffe Park 10k, on 7 October – you can support our team here.
